Sharon Fernandes, CHRL, is the Senior Vice President, People, Culture & CEO Office for the Toronto Region Board of Trade (The Board). In her role, Sharon is responsible for the oversight of the operations of the CEO’s office with a focus on enabling our internal teams and driving a strong culture of results. As well, she leads the human resources function including, talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, performance management, employee relations and employee experience.
Sharon is a seasoned professional with experience achieving results in fast-paced and dynamic environments, having held roles in such organizations as Rogers, Kobo, Hill + Knowlton, & GCI Communications. Previous to progressing into the HR field, Sharon had a successful career in communications, working as a consultant and advisor, with a focus on internal and social/digital communications. Sharon leverages her strong foundation in communications, as well as her consultative approach, to develop and implement programs to help enable our teams to drive organizational success.
Sharon holds a BA from Western University, an HR Management Certificate from Ryerson Chang School and is a Certified Human Resources Leader through the Human Resources Professionals Association.
