The World Trade Centre Toronto, through the Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI), strengthened Ontario’s aerospace sector by fostering collaboration, supporting SMEs, and driving economic recovery and growth.
ARRI, funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, equipped businesses with tools to innovate, expand operations, and create sustainable employment, enhancing resilience within the global aerospace supply chain and positioning companies for continued success after market disruptions.
- Robust job creation: The WTC-T ARRI project facilitated the creation of 267 new jobs within the aerospace industry - a significant increase reflecting ARRI’s effectiveness in fostering economic recovery.
- Business and workforce support: The Initiative provided critical support to 89 businesses, engaging 103 participants through targeted training and mentorship. The project helped businesses enhance their operational capabilities, improve productivity, and prepare for long-term success.
- Commercialization and global supply chain integration: Initiatives like TAP and the Market Activation Program (MAP) empowered participants to expand internationally and deeply integrate into global supply chains. Our export business mission to the 2024 Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit in Seattle opened doors for Ontario companies, enabling them to connect with international partners and expand their global footprint.
- Focus on sustainability and inclusivity: Our programs emphasized the importance of sustainable practices and inclusivity within the aerospace sector to not only improve operational efficiency, but ensure Ontario companies are aligned with global ESG standards and social responsibility.
- Inclusivity and sustainability: We supported inclusivity and diversity through focused sessions on talent management and sustainable practices, helping SMEs overcome financial barriers and implement inclusive hiring practices.
- Advanced technologies: Participants were trained in advanced manufacturing, AI integration, and cybersecurity, equipping them with the skills to drive innovation and operational excellence.
