Encompassing 40 economies, over four billion people and $47.19 trillion in economic activity, the Indo-Pacific is the world's fastest-growing region and home to six of Canada's top 13 trading partners. Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS) aims to expand Canada’s presence and enhance trade diversification in the region through an increase in two-way trade ($269.5B in 2022), increased inbound and outbound foreign direct investment ($226.1B in 2021), enhanced supply chain resilience and a stronger Canadian presence with and within priority economies in the Indo-Pacific.
