Why are we Going?

  •  In 2050, two thirds of the global population will be living in urban areas, consuming over 70% of the world’s energy and emitting an equivalent amount of greenhouse gases. COVID-19 has changed how we live, work, and move about in our cities, and some of those changes are here to stay, even in a post pandemic world. The broad theme of the mission will be how to build healthy and sustainable cities.
  • European municipalities have become leaders in innovation and disruptive technologies, and in developing strategies to implement smart solutions in Mobility, Energy Efficiency, Smart Government, and infrastructure, among others.
  • The Smart City Expo World Congress, the world’s leading event for cities, will attract the latest Smart Cities technologies, solutions, and innovation to connect with potential customers. Confirmed cities and countries include Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Italy, UK, Israel, Estonia, Prague, Belgium, Luxembourg, Nordics, Netherlands, USA, Chile, Colombia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. Confirmed private sector participants often include Cisco, Mastercard, Microsoft, Honeywell, FCC, Dell

“Rivercity Innovations Ltd was a recent participant in the Market Activation Program, attending the 2021 Smart City World Congress Expo in Barcelona, Spain. The delegation was very well organized by the team from Toronto Board of Trade, and instrumental in our continued growth entering new markets in Europe. Their efforts in leading us to potential new partners, agents, and business opportunities coordinated with the Trade Commissioner Service resulted in several successes for our business. Our first agent contract was signed in Spain on March 1st as a direct result of the MAP activities. I would highly recommend business owners consider accessing the MAP events for regions you are growing your business in. ” Jeff H. Shirley, Rivercity Innovations Ltd
