Our Operational Approach

YPN, an integral part of the Toronto Region Board of Trade (TRBOT), operates with the support of TRBOT’s members, partners, and guided by:

    Meet Jordan Mowbray, an accomplished professional and the Regional Manager, Business Markets at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). With over 10+ years of successful experience in Canadian banking, Jordan currently leads a large team of Relationship Managers who work closely with business owners throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), providing comprehensive financial solutions ranging from lending products to deposit strategies. 

    A passionate advocate for young professionals, Jordan joined the Young Professionals Network (YPN) nearly two years ago and now feels privileged to serve as the 'Chair' for the upcoming term. In his leadership role at RBC, Jordan's goal is to support, empower, and advocate for the growth and success of young professionals across the region. He is always available to connect, provide advice, and leverage his extensive network and experience to benefit the YPN community.

    On a personal note, Jordan embraces an active lifestyle and is an avid golfer. He finds joy in all things sports and film, appreciating their ability to inspire and entertain. Jordan and his spouse share a passion for exploration, making them avid global travelers, always seeking new experiences and cultural perspectives.

    Meet Andrew, a Senior Manager in KPMG's Deal Advisory practice, where he specializes in the operational aspects of M&A transactions and performance improvement. With a focus on helping both corporate and private equity investors find, retain, and maximize deal value, Andrew provides valuable advice and guidance in navigating complex and cross-functional projects.

    With an extensive background in public accounting, finance, and project management, Andrew has led numerous successful transactions and growth initiatives in Canada and internationally. His expertise and experience make him an invaluable asset to our committee and the Young Professionals Network (YPN).

    Beyond his professional commitments, Andrew is deeply committed to making a positive impact in the community. As a Program Advisor with Junior Achievement's Company Program, he facilitates change by empowering young minds with essential business skills. Additionally, he actively raises funds to support youth sports initiatives as a Director on the Championship Gala and volleyball teams at the MLSE Foundation Game Changers.

    In his personal time, Andrew embraces an active lifestyle. You'll often find him training for triathlons or enjoying the warmth of the summer sun. His dedication to personal growth and well-being is an inspiration to those around him.

    Dana Nassif is a passionate Rail Systems Engineer with WSP Canada’s Rail & Transit team, bringing over 6 years of invaluable experience to the table. Specializing in tunnel ventilation systems and fire life safety, Dana has made significant contributions to numerous megaprojects across Canada and internationally.

    Beyond her technical expertise, Dana is dedicated to amplifying women's voices in her industry, particularly empowering professional women in their career development. As the Chair of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee and a member of the Programs committee at the Women Transportation Seminar (WTS) Toronto Area Chapter, Dana actively promotes a more inclusive and diverse transportation sector. Additionally, she serves as a mentee with the Mentorship Committee and contributes her insights as a member of the EDI Chapter Best Practices Sub-Committee at WTS International.

    Not content with stopping there, Dana extends her commitment to community involvement. She serves as a Community Board Member on the Research Ethics Board at Seneca College, where she contributes to important ethical considerations in research endeavors.

    Outside of her professional achievements, Dana is an avid equestrian and an active member of the cold exposure community. Last year, she had the pleasure of attending the Fall Social event, where she connected with the Toronto Region Board of Trade (TRBOT) Young Professional Network (YPN) team. This year, she is honored to take on the role of Events Lead within the YPN, working diligently to create engaging and impactful experiences for fellow young professionals.

    Meet Irfan Hakim, a seasoned health informatics professional with a diverse range of expertise. With a background in health strategy, mental health research, health tech evaluation, knowledge translation, and interoperability (including FHIR), Irfan is dedicated to leveraging technology and utilizing analytics to enhance the overall quality of care and patient experience in healthcare.

    Passionate and enthusiastic, Irfan is not only an accomplished professional but also an avid hobbyist with a wide range of interests. He finds joy in hobbies such as coin and stamp collecting, which reflect his appreciation for global affairs, history, and the visual arts. Additionally, he embraces an active lifestyle and enjoys engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, biking, swimming, and general handiwork.

    Irfan's motivation for being part of the Young Professionals Network (YPN) stems from his desire to learn from his peers and expand his knowledge across various fields. He sees YPN as an opportunity to be the voice for his community while gaining valuable insights from other communities. Collaborating with the talented and diverse team at YPN is an exciting prospect for Irfan, as he looks forward to working together towards common goals.

    Introducing Jeff Dean, an accomplished professional serving as the Marketing and Influencer Lead for the YPN committee. Jeff brings a wealth of expertise to his role as the Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager at 407 ETR. Since joining the company in 2022, Jeff has been instrumental in expanding dialogue with local government, industry associations, and boards of trade, fostering stronger relationships and promoting collaboration.

    With a diverse background spanning public service, politics, and the financial sector, Jeff's experience positions him as a valuable asset to our committee. Prior to his role at 407 ETR, Jeff worked as a consultant and held positions in various political and bureaucratic roles within municipal and provincial governments. At Queen's Park, he led communications efforts and issues management as a press secretary to a cabinet minister, demonstrating his exceptional leadership skills. He also served as a senior advisor to a city councillor at Toronto City Hall, contributing his expertise in navigating complex political landscapes.

    Jeff's involvement in political associations, advocacy groups, and campaign management showcases his seasoned skills as a grassroots organizer. He brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to our committee, ensuring that our marketing and influencer strategies align with our goals of empowering and engaging young professionals.

    In addition to his role within our committee, Jeff serves on several government relations and policy committees with boards of trade across the region. His involvement allows him to contribute his insights and expertise to shape meaningful policies and strengthen the relationship between the government and the private sector.
