Event Information

Most people associate blockchain with financial assets like cryptocurrency, but this technology has much broader applications. Though still in its infancy, blockchain is quickly growing to be a major disruptor and innovator across many industries and sectors. This includes all aspects of talent management including recruitment, training and payroll.  

This event will feature a panel of workforce development and human resource specialists who will discuss how blockchain technology will impact “how we do” talent management, from screening and recruitment practices to workforce planning.

The Hospitality Workers Training Centre (HWTC) is a non-profit, sector-focused workforce development organization. Their mandate is to contribute to a strong and competitive hospitality, food service and gaming industry in Ontario. Since 2004, they have been dedicated to developing collaborative training solutions that benefit employers, workers and job seekers. They work closely with hospitality employers to understand the skill and competency requirements for their in-demand, entry-level positions, so that they can deliver training solutions designed to assist individuals who experience barriers to employment to effectively transition into these positions.
