Last Monday, TRBOT held an all-new event bringing together innovators in the manufacturing and technology space to share industry-leading insights and showcase state-of-the-art equipment.
This was a new type of event for TRBOT, with a main stage, a string of breakout rooms, and a showcase floor covering everything from AI, 3D printing, urban mobility, digital cities, robotics, manufacturing, drone transportation, and much more.
President and CEO of TRBOT, Giles Gherson summed up the issue of productivity and tech adoption in his opening remarks. “We see a hard-to-explain disconnect between our thriving innovation sector and our industry productivity.” He continued, “We can’t keep throwing people at the productivity problem. And that’s why we are here today. The large-scale adoption of new technologies is key to driving business growth and unlocking economic potential.”
Later in the day, The Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade, Vic Fedeli highlighted the importance of TRBOT’s place in the innovation ecosystem and the potential that the province has to be a world-beating jurisdiction.
“We're going to continue the path that we're on. We're going to continue partnering with TRBOT because we want to build those links between these segments. We want to continue to promote knowledge sharing.” He went on to say, “We have everything here in Ontario, to prosper in the 21st century. We are in the place where we build big things. We build big dreams.”
Our goal with this event was to put innovators manufacturers and businesses in the same room, to facilitate new relationships throughout the industry. This full-day showcase was an invaluable opportunity for insight-sharing and networking.
