For Ali Grovue, newly appointed President of Ignite Management, clarity is more than a leadership skill. It is the foundation of how she helps businesses navigate uncertainty and lead with purpose.
A former Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, Ali brings a sense of service and discipline to her work, a connection that feels especially fitting as Canada marks Remembrance Day.
“My leadership is rooted in my personal purpose: to be a source of light in the darkness, to be a reliable source of wisdom, clarity, direction and inspiration,” she says. “I’m motivated to pursue knowledge and understanding, live curiously and serve selflessly. This motivation is directly connected to our company’s direction.”
That sense of purpose defines how she leads Ignite Management, a Toronto-based leadership and strategy consultancy that helps organizations build strategy-driven cultures from within. “Our gift is creating clarity when things feel complex, uncertain or impossible, aligning people around a direction and creating motion,” she says.

Aligning People and Performance
Ali’s approach connects purpose with performance. “At Ignite, we believe that better business creates better communities,” she says. “Our vision of transforming the way business is done is not only about driving organizational success and financial prosperity, it is about building workplaces where people can thrive.”
By helping clients cut through complexity and align on a shared purpose, Ignite equips leaders to make confident choices and keep their teams moving in the same direction. It is a model that has proven its value in sectors from energy to manufacturing, to service industries where clarity and execution often determine long-term success.
Ali recently stepped into the role of President after serving as Vice-President, a promotion that reflects both her leadership within Ignite and her growing influence as a voice for strategy-driven business culture in the Toronto region.
Leadership Grounded in Service
Service has always shaped Ali’s approach to leadership. “We champion local artists, support a variety of causes through annual donations and host and contribute to fundraising events,” she says.
This year, she is taking that commitment further. “We’re working with the True Patriot Love Foundation in support of their 2026 Mount Waddington expedition. I will join a group of veterans and corporate leaders from across Canada to support ill and injured veterans in their recovery journeys and collectively raise $1 million for the foundation.”
For Ali, the mission carries deep meaning. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to support fellow veterans and lean into our belief at Ignite that fulfillment in life comes from doing hard things, with people you trust, in pursuit of something noble.”
Her service background influences not only her community involvement but also her leadership philosophy. The same values of courage, clarity and collaboration that guide military service now guide her work in business.

Turning Values Into Measurable Results
The business case for clarity comes through in Ignite’s client stories. “A few years ago, we worked with a leadership team navigating a period of intense uncertainty, market disruption, challenging headwinds and competing priorities. The team was stuck, unable to see a way forward,” she recalls. “Through our work together, we helped them step back, consider the landscape, make choices with courage and confidence and align on a shared purpose.
“Six months later, they weren’t just back on track, they had exceeded their goals and built a stronger, more collaborative culture. Seeing that transformation, the moment when clarity turns into momentum and people start enjoying work again, is the kind of milestone that brings our values of care, excellence and joy to life.”
Inclusion and Collaboration as Strengths
For Ali, collaboration and inclusion are essential to excellence. “We believe inclusion and collaboration are essential to excellence,” she says. “At Ignite, we’re deliberate about building a diverse team and celebrating individuality. I am a better person with a richer life because I am exposed to people of differing backgrounds, perspectives and ways of thinking and working.”
The same principle guides Ignite’s client work. “Nurturing cross-functional collaboration in pursuit of shared purpose is central to success. We achieve this through clarity of direction, shared ownership of strategy and building the muscle and mindset of collaboration. Internally, our team values being on site together. The energy and connection that come from working side by side, and the ease of in-person collaboration, are things we value.”
A Practical Lesson for Leaders
When asked what advice she would give to other business leaders, Ali keeps it simple. “Most people want to contribute, stretch themselves and do work that matters,” she says. “As leaders, our job is to set a clear direction and high bar, speak the truth and hold people accountable while showing care for their success and well-being. And take pride in your work, because no matter the outcome, there is joy in leaving little masterpieces along the way.”
For Ali, leadership and service are inseparable. Whether guiding a business team or supporting fellow veterans, her focus remains the same: bring clarity, create motion and lead with purpose.
