Member Workshop | Towards a Shared Future: Innovating Partnerships for Indigenous Students

Host Member:

Students in a classroom raise their hand to answer a question.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, join the Connected North program to learn about the role of business and ecosystems that drive social impact partnerships to support schools across Canada. The pathway to reconciliation in Canada calls for actionable partnerships that are built on respect, trust, and sustained commitment. Indigenous students are key to a thriving, inclusive future economy, and there is a growing need for the private sector to engage meaningfully.

No government or organization can solve complex social problems alone – to address Canada’s deepest social issues we must unlock the innovation, resources, and executional capacity of an ecosystem of partners coalesced around a specific problem. The corporate sector has the expertise and power to advance a movement, but multi-sector partnerships need to be thoughtfully aligned and designed for sustainable change. Join Jennifer Corriero, Executive Director of Connected North, a program of TakingITGlobal, and Waukomaun Pawis, Connected North Indigenous Education Coordinator, to learn how to mobilize resources to foster purposeful partnerships. Connected North’s partner ecosystem, which includes 14 corporate partners across technology, finance, aviation, professional advisory services, and more, will be used as a case study to explore six best practices for co-creating the transformative multi-sector partnerships that build stronger, more resilient communities.
