The past year’s business environment was defined by geopolitical uncertainty, rapid technological transformation, and intensifying global competition. Against this backdrop, the Toronto Region Board of Trade remained focused on one mission: helping our region’s economy overcome a decade of sluggish productivity and achieve escape velocity.
Together with our Members, we advanced bold ideas and practical solutions to strengthen competitiveness, unlock investment, and position the Toronto region for long term growth through influential advocacy, research, events, and business programs.
- Championed policies to strengthen the Toronto region’s competitiveness, with a focus on infrastructure, trade, resources, energy, and innovation.
- Published 19 major reports and held 135 events with 10,700+ attendees to drive action on the region’s top economic challenges.
- Expanded World Trade Centre Toronto programming with the launch of the AI Business Catalyst program and CUSMA Compliance Series, helping SMEs adopt AI and grow globally.
- Elevated the productivity conversation through the Toronto Talks podcast and our member newsletters, featuring influential business leaders.
- Achieved major advocacy wins, including the adoption of our congestion action plan, funding for Waterfront Transit, a repeal of the EV mandate, a reduction in development charges and the removal of interprovincial trade barriers.
