Toronto Region Board of Trade Names new Chair of its Board of Directors: Yung Wu, CEO of MaRS Discovery District

The Board welcomes Yung Wu, our new Chair of our Board of Directors.

Toronto, ON, January 31, 2022 – Today, Toronto Region Board of Trade announced the appointment of Yung Wu, CEO of MaRS Discovery District, as Chair of its Board of Directors.

Yung is a serial entrepreneur and investor with a proven track record of founding and growing high-potential companies. He has been honoured by Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, as well as the nation’s 50 Best Managed Private Companies list. Yung is also co-founder of two non-profit organizations: the Coalition of Innovation Leaders Against Racism (CILAR) and DifferentIsCool (DiSC).

Yung has been a member of Toronto Region Board of Trade’s Board of Directors since 2019 and was appointed Vice-Chair in 2021. The Toronto Region Board of Trade is also pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Teslyk, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Canadian Banking at Scotiabank as Co-Vice Chair and the re-appointments of Lisa Kimmel, Global Managing Director of Sector Specialty Agencies, Chair & CEO, Canada & Chair, Latin America at Edelman as Co-Vice Chair and Alaina Tennison, Partner and Chief Financial Officer at PwC Canada as Treasurer of the Board of Directors.

Yung replaces Leo Salom, President and CEO of TD Bank (U.S.), who served as Chair of the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s Board of Directors for five years and whose dedicated contributions led to important housing action and new business supports in the region.
